Maasai Market days: where it is each day
The main Maasai Market moves to a different venue each day, Tuesday to Sunday.[1] Several malls now host their own on set days, and two run every day.

The city-centre market has moved
For years the weekend market traded next to the Supreme Court. Traders said they had been there since 2008.[17]
In August 2024 the county moved them to the sunken car park on Aga Khan Walk.[17][14] Their old site had been destroyed during the Gen Z protests.[17]
The market's Google listing places it by the Supreme Court, open Saturday and Sunday from 9.30am to 6pm. Google reviews posted in the last week of September 2026 show it still trading.[15]
Which Maasai Market to pick
The city-centre market is the original weekend edition. Recent Google reviews complain about pushy brokers and inflated first prices there.[15]
Travel planner Extraordinary Journeys suggests Yaya Centre or Village Market if you have the choice.[1] Mall markets come with parking and the mall next door.
For a sense of scale, Capital Centre lists 65 vendors at its Wednesday market.[5]
What to buy at the Maasai Market
Capital Centre lists its market's stock as shukas and textiles, beaded jewellery, paintings, carvings and curios.[5] The Junction adds leather and fabrics.[8]
